8:00 AM to 9:15 AM - Introduction to Cub Scouting
9:30 AM to 12:30 PM - Basic Leader Position Specific
12:30 PM to 1:00 PM - Lunch Break
1:00 PM to 4:00 PM - Basic Adult Leader Outdoor Orientation (BALOO)

Course Descriptions

Introduction to Cub Scouting

Cost: $10 Mail-in; $12 Walk-in
Provides a general orientation to the Cub Scouting program and basic training for all Adult Leaders in Cub Scout.

Basic Leader Position Specific

Cost: $8 Mail-in; $10 Walk-in
Provides a leader the knowledge and skills needed for there specific position. Leader Training goes into greater detail on youth development and boy behavior, program planning, activities, and the purposes of the program. Leader Specific Training is available for the following positions:

• Cubmaster and Assistant Cubmaster
• Den Leader and Assistant Den Leader
• Webelos Leader and Assistant Webelos Leader
• Pack Committee
• Pack Trainer

Note:To complete the Webelos Leader Training leaders will need to take Outdoor Leader Skills Weekend 1 (next held in the Spring 2010).

Basic Adult Leader Outdoor Orientation

Cost: $10 Mail-in; $12 Walk-in
Intended Audience: For Cub Scout leaders and parents.
BALOO introduces leaders and parents to the skills needed to plan and conduct pack outdoor activities, particularly pack camping. Participants who complete this training will have better understanding of the Cub Scout level of the BSA outdoor program. Gain the skills needed to plan and carry out a safe successful Cub Scout-level overnight activity. This training is required for any adult who is in charge of planning a pack campout.

Leader Handbooks

Leader Handbooks may be ordered for pick-up at training. This is available only through mail-in registration.
